The Chattanooga Area Swim League (CASL) is a testament to the vibrant aquatic sports culture in the region. With the school season wrapped up, thousands of eager young swimmers dive into the summer season, and CASL provides the perfect platform for their passion.
The 66th Annual Bill Caulkins City Meet, held at Gilbert-Stephenson Park, is a highlight of the swimming calendar. This event brings together 14-15 community teams, each with 80-100 swimmers aged 5 to high school seniors, for a thrilling competition. What makes this meet truly special is the sense of community and camaraderie it fosters.
A Dominant Force in the Pool
One team, in particular, has been making waves—quite literally. The Ooltewah Tidal Waves have been on an incredible winning streak, remaining undefeated for the last six years. This year, they claimed their 7th consecutive City Meet Team Title, an astonishing achievement.
Personally, I find the Tidal Waves' success intriguing. It's not just about the medals and trophies; it's the dedication and teamwork that shine through. Head Coach Philipp Davydotchkin attributes their success to the swimmers themselves, and I couldn't agree more. It's the athletes who put in the hard work, and their talent and commitment are undeniable.

The young swimmers' enthusiasm is infectious. Declan Harris, a Tidal Wave swimmer, sums it up perfectly: 'This is the funnest thing ever.'
